In or out of integrity?

A daily blogging practice is grounding in that it requires only what is coming up today. Not the whole life backstory, or the descriptions of every character. Today’s thought, dream, analysis, challenge.

The word I woke up thinking about today is integrity. Martha Beck, renowned life coach, detailed her “integrity cleanse” on a podcast I heard. What would it look like, she pondered, to live in integrity with oneself? That means not uttering a word one doesn’t mean. Not doing anything that isn’t true to oneself. Not even making a single facial expression that doesn’t accurately represent one’s inner beliefs. Could she do it? Well, she did and she documented it.

And, what is integrity in the first place? Merriam-Webster says: firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values: INCORRUPTIBILITY.

I’m spending this week taking stock of where I am in and out of integrity, even in the microscopic decisions I make. It’s a great practice and is opening up internal questions. Will save those for another day…
