Intention setting is re-orienting me (and I need it).
Coming out of a deep rut, seeking re-orientation.
Intention setting is my new practice. I’m noticing that I’m seeking a new way to orient on a day-to-day basis. The power of setting an intention comes in owning, in advance, how I want to show up.
An intention is a belief that something will happen: I’ll enjoy the date, I’ll nail the call, I’ll be proud of my work. Intentions infuse the subject with mindful care. It’s advance planning with heart.
Some intentions I’ve set yesterday and today:
“My intention for today is to feel connected to myself.”
“My intention for this concert is to meet at least one new person, and to have fun.”
“My intention for this conversation is to be fully present and listen deeply.”
Give it a try today. You may be surprised to find this new orientation inspiring.
